Monday morning 3-15-10

Dear Marcy
We spent Sat and Sunday with Mckenzie and I was able to accomplish my goal of getting the Kitchen drain flowing after putting Mckenzie off all week. The 25 foot snake didn't clean it out so I blew it out with the garden hose and Her help. I thought about staying over till Monday and renting the power snake but you mother had to b e to work this morning. Yes, this morning I went out in the 24 degree cold to see how the cows and new calves were doing and there were 2 more new ones all doing great so far. You know when I go out I wear my pajamas under my insulated coveralls, and don't bother getting dressed till later when it warms up if at all. Scott the Bio Flora fertilizer man came over to look over the beet and crop needs so i was sitting in the kitchen visiting, ah working, when I had a knock at the door and the Schwan man was there with and Internet order from your mother, so some one needs to come eat some yogurt ice cream sticks please, after the order the guy asked me what I did for a living? What ever it was it looked pretty good, 10:30 in the morning in my pajamas checking out the ice cream order. I told him your mother was at work and I wasn't sure what hat I was going to put on, but the mountain looked like it had a new blanket of snow and needed some one to go mess it up. It is getting to be a beautiful day so I'm heading out and will wright more latter. love DEAD BEAT DAD. I really do have a wonderful life and thankful you all take care of me.

March 10
Hello Marcy, Do they really talk a little different in Alabama than they do in Idaho? Do you think they understand you. Does the GPS work so you are not lost and have to ask directions? It is definitely spring in Idaho we had blowing snow yesterday, 50 degrees Monday and 22 degrees today and forecast of 60 this weekend. Still getting new calves every day and they are doing great. We had all the open houses last week the time change this week so if it gets warm for conference we will be in the fields. Looking forward to your letter today. I am off to twin falls to pick up a beef from the butcher, order my lumber, and go to the cow sale. I'll write more later, see ya dad.

Small beginnings.

Dear Marcy, I just wrote a nice long letter full of wisdom and good cheer just to lose it somewhere between saving and posting. Boy that is really frustrating. I sure this will not be as good because MY attitude has changed. Do I really need to refer you as Sister Anderson? I suppose, so just know I do Marcy. The State wrestling last week end was great fun. I had a few different teams to watch, Raft River, with Travis, Burley with Bishop Tateoka, Valley had a two time state Champion, Minico, and Rigby. Jeff did really well with a State Champion, and second and some in consolation. Spell check is really going to take some humor out of these letters. I have been staying close to home for a week and am having a good start on the calf crop. The first heifer lost her calf and I got a replacement and the cow took it on her own, I've never had one that easy, it was like just drop it off and away they went. I have an auction to go to this morning and then lunch at Pioneer Equipment in Rupert so today is taken care of. We had a little rain last night but I think we are a little short on water. It will be spring soon. This year we are planting Sugar Beets, barley, peas, organic peas, hay, and some corn. Sugar prices are fairly good but everything else has dropped in price except for the expenses. Do you read your letters everyday they come or do you save them and only read them on Wed? The ones in the mail? I figure you only get on the computer on P Day. It's another week hope you are busy and have some great times this week love ya dad.

I don't remember it being so long a time between hearing from a missionary. I'm sure you were busy with your studies and getting trained at the MTC. Now we can always look forward to Wednesday. Your letters are just an extra bonus. this large type is great it makes you feel like you are writing lot. State wrestling was really fun and Jeff really did a good job. The fun was having so many different teams to watch, Raft River, Minico, Valley, Burley, and Rigby. Jeff had a state champion and a second place and then some in consolation. It is raining out today and I have an auction and lunch at Pioneer Equip in Rupert. Last week the cows began calving and the heifers are really doing well. I have been staying close to watch them and have them penned up and just turn them out when their baby begins nursing. It begining to be spring like and we are getting ready to plant. We will have sugar beets, barley, hay, organic peas this year, and some corn. The beets are the only thing that has not taken a drop in pricing, oh that and expenses. It is going to take a few times to get back to writing, know that we love you Marcy and happy you are in Alabama, keep up the good work. I might get to go sledding once more before spring. love dad
